Acharya Tenzin Wangpo gave us the honour of two Teachings in 2021. We are happy to welcome him back and share this event with you.

According to Shamar Rinpoche understanding 'The King of Prayers from Samantabhadra' is very important for anyone who practices the Mahayana Way, the Great Vehicle.

These wishes present a way to accomplish the activity of a Bodhisattva. At the same time, they are a great inspiration for all practitioners, to follow these wishes expressed by Samantabhadra, and thus deepening and supporting one’s own practice and conductThis is one of the main reasons why this “King of Prayers” is part of the Bodhi Path program.

Just as all suffering of living beings is based on negative states of mind and emotions, happiness and liberation is based on meritorious activity and according wishes. This text of Samantabhadra is the perfect expression of those wishes and enables the practitioner to accumulate the roots of virtue, and all the causes and conditions, which are necessary in order to be active for the well-being of all sentient beings.

Shamar Rinpoche

In December, 2009, in Bodh Gaya, Shamar Rinpoche gave a teaching on the Noble King of Prayers of Excellent Conduct, also known as the Samantabhadra Wishing Prayer. Buddha Shakyamuni gave the teaching of the Samantabhadra Wishing Prayer to urge practitioners to treat the great Bodhisattva Samantabhadra as a role model to emulate so that all their wishes may be accomplished. The teaching by Shamar Rinpoche was transcribed into a book first released by Shanti Path Publications of Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2011. In this edition, the Tibetan text, as well as an English-language version of the prayer itself, translated by Pamela Gayle White under the guidance of Shamar Rinpoche, is included in the book.
